Super zoo hybrid stores
Do you ever come home late and find that your pet has nothing left to eat? There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants with late-night delivery, but where can you get something for your four-legged friend in the evening? This problem has been neatly solved by Plaček Group with its 24/7 Super zoo stores.
At the end of 2023, we had the opportunity to open together the first hybrid self-service Super zoo store in South Moravia. So people in Brno can now also choose between shopping during regular opening hours and outside them, conveniently at any time after 8 p.m. in unattended mode.
They can even bring their animal companion along. The Super zoo chain thinks of everything and is ready for unexpected situations too, such as a customer’s phone battery running out. That is why there is a wireless charging station right next to the unattended checkout.
To visit the self-service store, customers need only a mobile phone with a bank identity and a payment card.
Cashless payments in the store were provided by our company, SONET member of Payten, by implementing payment technology via the ECR2 protocol in the control system of the self-service checkout. Customers can take their time choosing what they need, scan the barcodes of the goods and then easily pay for their purchase contactlessly on the Ingenico Lane/3000 payment terminal. Simply convenient, fast and secure, as you can see for yourself in the video below.
Together with the operator Plaček and the acquirer UniCredit Bank, we now have four joint Super zoo installations. We have also equipped hybrid stores with payment technology in Týn nad Vltavou, České Budějovice and Příbram, and another is due this week in Uherské Hradiště.
‘In 2024, we plan to expand this concept to other towns and cities,’ said Luboš Rejchrt, COO and managing director of Plaček Group, adding that it does not end with the Czech Republic. In the future, we are preparing to open the first hybrid self-service Super zoo store in Slovakia with Plaček Group, in Bratislava. And we are already looking forward to what comes next.
