Tips and tricks

We pride ourselves on treating the environment with consideration, which is why we fulfil our obligation to take back end-of-life electrical equipment and e-waste and dispose of it in an environmentally sound way.

We are aware that e-waste is the fastest-growing type of waste in terms of volume. Yet electrical equipment and batteries contain many recyclable materials, as well as substances that are highly hazardous to the environment and human health, notably mercury, lead and cadmium. By taking back electrical equipment and, above all, recycling the materials, we conserve primary raw materials and at the same time protect our environment from improper handling of e-waste. Sorting and recycling e-waste helps to reduce the consequences of so-called technological progress and its mass availability.

The companies that help us handle the take-back of e-waste are REMA Systém, a.s. in the Czech Republic and SEWA a.s. in Slovakia. Both companies have many years of experience in organising the collection, sorting, handling and recycling of e-waste. Their interesting projects bear this out. For example, the interactive web game Recykloboti zachraňují planetu (“Recyclobots Save the Planet”), part of REMA's educational project Chytrá recyklace (“Smart Recycling”), teaches children why and how to sort end-of-life electrical appliances correctly.
