Giving charity a new dimension

We would like to introduce a newly emerging charity kiosk project that we developed to order for our partner, the Dům Ronalda McDonalda (Ronald McDonald House) foundation, and that gives charity a new dimension.

McCharity, a charity terminal where you can pay with a contactless payment card, can be found at McDrive for now and will gradually appear in every McDonald’s restaurant. Simply hold your payment card against the charity kiosk, which has the donation amount preset. The amount of the donation and its purpose are shown on a sticker attached to the terminal or on a banner standing next to it. It is that easy to support the work and mission of the Dům Ronalda McDonalda foundation.

More about the foundation

Dům Ronalda McDonalda (DRMcD) is an independent non-profit organisation that is part of the worldwide network of charities known as Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Our shared mission is to help the families of children with serious long-term illnesses. We believe that having their parents with them in hospital helps children to recover sooner. That is why we build houses all over the world that give these families free temporary accommodation in the immediate vicinity of hospitals. Our organisation currently operates in more than 40 countries and runs at least 380 houses, with more opening every year. In the Czech Republic, it is building its first Ronald McDonald House right on the grounds of Motol University Hospital. It will be completed at the end of 2022 and will provide a home for up to 21 families.

Lasting cooperation and experience

Our company, SONET member of Payten, played a significant part in the McCharity solution. It supplied the payment technology and modern payment terminals for it. We have been working with McDonald’s for a long time on various payment solutions, such as ordering systems with card payment in the McDonald’s restaurants themselves. Nor are we newcomers to charity projects. Two years ago, we launched an interesting project, the Charity kiosk, which can be seen at various cultural monuments, churches and shopping centres. In this way, charity kiosks help to collect monetary donations effectively and contactlessly for charitable organisations and foundations in need. After all, studies clearly show that a preset donation amount combined with the option of paying by card increases the volume of donations by up to 30%.
